Same waterfall, different framing. In this one i focused more on the magnificent trees. Which one do you prefer?

    1. Thank you very much πŸ™‚ It was hard to get a nice framing without having a really wide angle lens, you can see that in my previous post it’s almost the same photo but i included the waterfall and left out a part of the trees. Your work is really beautiful by the way πŸ™‚

  1. As much as I wanted to say I likes #1 – I think that #2 is my preference…Maybe because #1 has more of the grey rock tone and #2 by adding the top of the trees and more sky gives additional color to the scene. I do think that your concept of being able to get both #1 and #2 together in a single shot would be the way to go. Both are good I guess you can choose the best one to emphasize what you prefer – trees or waterfall.

    1. Hmmm…I think i like the #2 more also. So far people on Facebook and DeviantArt are commenting that they prefer this one more too…I guess it’s because it’s more colorful and you get a more open view of the sky also. One thing i know for sure, even if i could go back there now, i wouldn’t go until i get a wide angle lens like the Tokina 11-16mm…So i can actually capture a better view and not be so tormented again :p

      1. I think it’s not only the stronger colors of the sky and the trees. The waterfall isn’t big and impressive enough to carry the major plot of the picture…
Sorry – I have seen so many huge and impressive norwegian waterfalls, that I may be a bit spoiled… πŸ˜‰

        1. Yes, it was the wrong season to visit if you wanted to see more water. We went there in November and it was practically almost summer until that point. If we could go during spring or in the beginning of summer, it would be a different story. There is actually a really big waterfall in this forest, 80m tall and another one 70 meters tall but they are only seasonal. We don’t have many waterfalls here, especially big ones…so i would really like to see those big ones with water. I only saw the mountain side that was supposed to be the 80m waterfall site and there was barely any water running :p Maybe i’ll upload that photo tomorrow πŸ™‚ Those Norwegian waterfalls must be really impressive, i would really like to photograph a snowy scenery with waterfalls and icy lakes πŸ˜€

          1. You should travel to Norway one day for photography! I’m sure you would love it!
But – as you proved – every photo depends of the eye of the photographer and his or her creativity! You second shot was perfect! You put the strengh of the scenery in focus and used the small waterfall as a charming and decorating part. It’x really beautiful! πŸ™‚

            1. I would really love to πŸ˜€ There are so many places i really want to visit, i must do something about it. Couldn’t traveling be free? :p I just uploaded a photo of the 80meter waterfall, not much to see but it has potential if it was the right season :p

    1. Thank you very much πŸ˜€ I didn’t dare to retouch those photos until now…they just didn’t look good…I think they are ok now πŸ™‚ Thanks to camera raw and all the highlight and shadows information you are now able to recover.
