The waves that calm me…

the waves that calm me by V-Light
Igoumenitsa, Greece, 2009 | HDR made in Photomatix by combining 3 shots (-2, 0. +2)

I just love the sea and the sound of the soft waves. Don’t you? When i’m stressed i always look for the company of water so i don’t think i could ever live somewhere where there are no lakes, rivers or sea.

UPDATE: I just added some new photos in my Redbubble portfolio. There are all kinds of prints for all kinds of wallets 🙂 You can have a look here: V-Light on Redbubble

  1. I feel the same about the sea, Alexandra. It is so calming to listen to waves and I love the Mediterranean so much, these beautiful colors you have in Greece. Regards Mitza

    1. 😀 That’s what i’m gonna miss the most when i move to Austria. Fortunately they do have some lovely rivers and lakes, i’ll have some water there too but it’s not like the sea…

    1. 🙂 Thank you very much Diana. The sea is really a beautiful thing, isn’t it? You are lucky to live near it. My village is also very close to the sea and even the city that i lived for 7 years was right next to the sea as well…Can’t think of living somewhere with no water next to me 🙂

  2. First and foremost very nice shot. Second, I’m impressed you do -2 and +2 brackets with your HDR – I usually just go one up & down. Last, I agree about the sea – we were just back to Seaside (asylum) to get my book cover shot yesterday and my wife commented on just how relaxing it is (beside the seaside, the beautiful sea).

    1. 🙂 Thank you Robert! First of all i always shoot raw to capture more dynamic range and have more flexibility to open up the shadows in post…I do -2 +2 on most circumstances because this way i can take the 3 photos using the autobracketing and no tripod. When i shoot with a tripod i also do -1 +1 and take 7 or even 9 shots, so i can get max quality 🙂 But most of my older photos are all handheld.

      1. Hello Alex – thanks for the tech info – as you know I am always interested in how others work. Good to hear from you – it’s like you are checking in to say that you are OK – which I hope is the case.

        1. 🙂 I’m fine! I had a little break away from my computer since it was Easter and it’s a holiday here, we had some lovely weather and i preferred to spend it outside and relax a bit. It does always suck to stay behind on what you post though 🙂
