Creative Blogger Award

Hello my friends,

I have something different for you today, Beatrice from ShootingVienna has nominated me for the Creative Blogger Award. Since i’m kinda stuck in a rut with my photography, i thought this may be a good opportunity to make a post about something totally unrelated and get them engines going πŸ™‚

The rules are simple: The nominee is requested to share 5 random facts about oneself and is supposed to nominateΒ 15-20 other bloggers to do so as well. Or less if you can’t think of so many persons πŸ˜›

So here 5 random facts about me, i hope you enjoy them!

  • 1) You probably already know that i’m half Austrian and half Greek. Well, my Austrian side is mostly Austrian with a taste of Hungarian and a pinch of Croatian. So yeah, i’m pretty mixed up! XD
  • 2) Before i decided that i wanted to study photography and be a photographer, i seriously considered, a career as: a track athlete, a detective, an archeologist, an architect, a graphic designer (this might actually come true soon), a pilot, a stewardess, an aircraft mechanic, a computer technician…what else? You get the point…I envy the people who have one true passion in their lives…I never knew…Still don’t know… πŸ˜•
  • 3) I don’t like coffee, i don’t like Nutella, i don’t like Bacon, i don’t like Angelina Jolie, i don’t like Brad Pitt and basically all the people who are considered to be the world’s most beautiful. I like natural beauty, rough features, imperfections, scars, all these movie stars and supermodels that are being adored are totally indifferent to me. Also on this topic, kinda, i’m really proud cause i never owned/wore a Converse shoe! Even when they were so much in demand and practically everyone in the world owned at least one pair…i never did! 😎 I’m such a rebel, i know…Hahaha…
  • 4) I’m a nerd!Β ^^’ I love gaming, computers and anything technical. They say girls aren’t good at that stuff. Think again.. I’ve been a gamer since 1988, had a PC (Amstrad CPC 464) since i was 3 years old, i was programming my own games in BASIC, well my dad is to blame for that! But for a kid that grew up in a remote village of 500 people that were living in a world at least 20 years back in time, i have to thank my dad for being so ahead of his time and introduced me to a world that the other kids in my village got to know when they were teens…and some not even then…
  • 5) Weirdly, my vision is perfect, even though i’ve spend countless hours in front of computer screens and i say that because as a teen i was obsessed and wanted to wear glasses! I intentionally sat in a dark room and played games for hours to cause eye strain and damage my vision so i could get to wear glasses! XD It never happened! I still find glasses totally sexy on other people… but i can live without them now…

I nominate these lovely bloggers for the Creative Blogger Award:

  • Diogo from Life In A Photograph, my awesome pirate/photographer matey capturing gorgeous landscapes from Portugal, always wonders where the rum has gone…
  • Monika from You Get The Pic, fellow multicultural Canon lover, currently to be found in the dreamy CΓ΄te d’Azur
  • Sue from Words Visual, beautiful photo studies and inspired words
  • Lia from Lia in Brussels, educational and enjoyable walks in museums and several cities of the world
  • Kongo from Travel Monkey, a monkey that travels and takes photos? You bet and they are lovely!
  • Mitza from Made By Mitza, flowers, doors, Greece, jewelery and all that is beautiful
  • Lignum Draco from Etcetera Etcetera Etcetera, the best street and candid photography there is, you might also enjoy his vivid randomness

Please take some time to check out their blogs if you are not already familiar with them! They are all awesome people, with great photography and great attitude! If you got nominated and don’t feel like doing this, no worries but i must say, i’m really curious to read 5 random facts about you πŸ˜€

Cheers!

    1. Hehe, well that means that you know me very well my friend! πŸ™‚ I wasn’t a photographer when i was obsessed with glasses, now i must admit i wouldn’t want to wear any cause i can imagine it must be rather inconvenient when you have to stick your face to the camera πŸ˜›

        1. But isn’t everything else blurry when you don’t wear glasses? There’s always contact lenses as well…but yeah, i’m good with seeing perfectly. I’m not in any hurry to have to wear glasses anymore πŸ˜›

  1. Same here with number 2. As I kid I also wanted to be a food critic so I could eat tasty food for free haha. Also same here, never had converse but for me it is not the fashion aspect. Never got them because they are bad in shock-absorbing and make people walk weird. Number 4 is very interesting, surely not everyone can say that about them πŸ™‚

    1. A food critic? Good idea!!! I must admit i didn’t think about that one…i will add it to the list…hehe! About the Converse, it was not just the fashion for me either, they do seem totally uncomfortable. And i love sneakers, if i had the money i would have a room full of sneakers πŸ˜› I love Asics for sport shoes and Onitsuka Tiger for something more casual, they are so comfy and light, like walking on air! πŸ˜€

      1. Oh yes I have too many shoes, most of them Sneakers but they are so damn comfortable and pretty πŸ™‚ Have to check out both brands but I recently bought sneakers in Bratislava with memory foam and I feel like floating on a cloud while using them πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you so much for including me in your lovely bloggers Alex! I’m gonna be checking my fellow nominees soon. I’m not usually passing these on though, yeah, I know, party pooper… πŸ™‚
PS: you can still wear glasses, you know? Many people do just for fun, stylish spectacles with no correction.

    1. You are welcome Lia! And no problem, i don’t ever do such type of posts either but i needed something different, to get back in the mood for writing and post more regularly πŸ™‚

Ps. If i knew that 15 years ago, i would definitely be walking around with “fake” glasses! Now with all the hipsters who wear huge grandma glasses just for fun, it would be so much easier…but back then i couldn’t justify it πŸ˜› People still made fun of people wearing glasses… I’m ok now :p No need for glasses anymore…hehe…

  3. Thanks Alex as well!! I can *totally* relate to #2 .. but hold off, #1……. ? well I updated the About section and wow πŸ™‚ where to start, I am a rebel, nerdy, do not like those “celebrities” neither, never cared for Converse-s, well it was awesome to read thanks again and hope all is well!

      1. Hehehe πŸ˜€ We really do have a lot similarities! It would be really nice to actually meet one day πŸ˜€ I really like the updated look on your blog by the way! Very minimal! I’ve been struggling with mine cause i like the current style but the theme is not responsive and it can be really heavy for people who visit using tablets and especially smartphones. I either need to do a complete makeover and change the look completely…or i must find a theme that is responsive, has a sidebar and can show full posts. I also really love the feature slider on this one though and many people do visit my featured posts… I haven’t found any other theme that has such a neat slider 😦

        1. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ yes I know what you mean about the themes / our wishes, desires….. (just added more 2 words a min ago again to the About section ahaha as I think I have my elegance from an Austrian great-grandmother? ehehe) and thank you! I will do this Challenge (time to time I do them too) but definitely so many similarities (I never understood ppl in general neither liked things everyone does lol) and about the themes, not easy I know but you will find what you need. Mainly you’re no longer on WP.com so you’ve got more options πŸ˜› ehehe We all like different things & there are many options out there these days.. Personally I do not want a full post to be shown (what if the post has 10+ photos) and struggling find a neat one etc etc. Cheers ~

  4. Funny that you say you wanted to damage your eyesight to have glasses. I knew kids that wanted bad teeth because braces were kind of trendy. What do kids know? πŸ™‚

Congratulations on the award, and again, sorry to be late to see this. Thank you for the nomination which I’ll add and link to you on my award nominations page. Thank you.

    1. Hahahaha! Really? Braces? I guess all kids are masochists! πŸ˜› I’m thankful that i don’t have to wear glasses now! I didn’t know it was a thing with these awards, i just did it for the fun πŸ™‚ But you are welcome of course… I thought it would be nice to mention some of my favorite blogs πŸ˜€
