Signs of spring all around the Danube Island! 🌼🌼🌼 Countless flowers decorate the saturated green meadows waiting for the sun to shine ☀ Nature is blooming everywhere…
Thousands of hungry caterpillars, waiting anxiously to transform and live a new life. Life is moving fast, evolving, it would be insane to stay the same. Take a deep breath and embrace change, let your wings grow and fly high! 😀 Wishing you all an awesome week! ♥
The Danube island is a little paradise in the middle of Vienna. It’s perfect for long bike rides, picnics, swimming or just sunbathing and from what i’ve seen also for fishing. I really love all the little floating fishing-boat-houses that can be found all along the shores of the Danube river. This one is equipped and ready for some serious grilling sessions under the warm summer sun. Not much of a sun in this photo but it’s coming! 😀
Here they are, the two tallest buildings of Vienna in one photo! 🙂 Donauturm (252meters) on the center of the photo and the DC Tower 1 (250meters with the antenna included) on the right. The Danube island offers a great panoramic view to some great architectural marvels but it’s also a unique place for nature lovers as you will discover on my next posts 😉
Have a great week my friends and don’t forget your comments are always welcome! Cheers!

Continuing our walk on the Danube Island, we get to have a nice view of the second tallest building in Vienna. The DC Tower 1, is quite a fresh addition to the city’s skyline, having been completed in the summer of 2013. The DC Tower is 220 meters high, 250 meters if you include the antenna on top of it and thus almost touching the first place of the tallest buildings list. However, Donauturm at 252 meters height, refuses to come second to a cheating building and comfortably enjoys its first place! 😛
Standing on the same road, the view behind my back looks like that…An uphill road that invites you to go deeper exploring what this little magical island has to offer… Stay tuned 😉
V-Light is back! I hope you missed me cause you are gonna be served many new photos in the next days 😀 Why the long absence you may ask?…Well, i needed some time in my cocoon to be nurtured and grow into the artistic butterfly you all know me to be! Haha 😛 While in my cocoon, i still walked around every day (wait cocoons can walk? o_O ), many times for more than 3-4 hours, i covered many kilometers, absorbed so much beauty in vision and in sound. But hey, spring is here, so the smell ain’t so bad either! Everything is in bloom, vibrant colors, crazy people, wicked smiles…and the mood to kick ass is back again!
This might not be a very “springy” photo but that’s what i love about this season, the contrast! So i’ve been visiting the island in the middle of the Danube river, almost every day! It’s really a great place, so much nature, so much green and water all around! As an Aquarius myself, i love water, i crave to be near water, so it’s been a very healing experience as well. Batteries are fully charged and i’m ready to make my comeback to the oh so demanding online world! Hope you all have been doing great and enjoying spring wherever you are 😀 V-Light out! ♥

Good morning my friends!!! 😀 It’s snowing again in Vienna and it’s a beautiful morning indeed! I cannot wait to go out and shoot some snowy photos! For now, here’s a photo of the Florido Tower in an icy surrounding. ❄ The waterpark in Floridsdorf is really a great place for photos and if you have a telephoto lens i would recommend to do some birdwatching, you’d be surprised by the variety of birds that inhabit this area!!! 🐦
As you probably already know, i spend my Christmas in upper Austria…and there was snow…a lot of snow! 😀 In the next days i will upload some of the photos i took there before we return to the usual Vienna posts. So this was actually my first contact with snow after many years of seeing none in Greece. You can imagine that i was ecstatic but also really not well prepared! Thankfully i had my uncle lent me some warm gloves, hiking shoes and gaiters (German: Gamaschen, i finally managed to learn that word!😂) for not getting all wet, cause the snow at some parts of the mountain was knee high! I was ready for some serious action!
It was still snowing relentlessly when we decided to go for a hike and while it was really beautiful it made taking photos very hard. I ended up taking most photos with my mobile phone (coming up on the next post) and only a few with my DSLR. My one and only Canon 60D is not really weather sealed so i couldn’t risk it. What do you use to protect your camera from getting all wet? Cause the umbrella sure didn’t work, with being windy and all that, my camera got covered in snow in a matter of seconds! I dared to take only a few shots, before putting it back in my backpack…but my uncle had enough time to snap a cool backstage photo 😎 Say, snowcovered-icy-cheeeeeeese!!!❆❆❆
So i listened to many of your recent comments suggesting that black and white would be a good way to go for snowy landscapes with an empty and mundane sky and even though i’m not a big fan of B&W, (i love my crazy colors), i gave it a try. This is another panoramic photo, made by combining 8 horizontal frames at 17mm, taken handheld. I think B&W suits it perfectly since there was barely any color in the original photo. Those trees were huge by the way and from that perspective the 252meter tall Donau Tower seems tiny…
Thank you for all for your suggestions and thoughtful comments. Sometimes we get so stuck in our own routine and it’s just great to receive such beautiful suggestions ♥
Winter has been going on strong for some weeks now in Austria. After Christmas it has snowed a few times inside Vienna as well and of course i was out taking photos every day. The reason why you haven’t seen any of these photos yet, is because i need to reinvent my editing process to make it suitable for snow. Snow is something new to me so i need to find new ways to capture it as i envision. I took some days off to refresh my brain and eyes and now i’m back to work! 😀 Brace yourselves! Winter photos are coming!
Let’s start with something recent! This is a panoramic photo i took yesterday, 9 vertical frames, handheld. It was snowing at the moment and one thing i noticed as a newbie about this kind of weather is that when you have such a gray sky it’s really hard to make it look nice. But until now i didn’t have the luck of having a nice blue sky with fluffy clouds while the earth is still snowed! So this will do 🙂
Also i wanted to say a big thanks for all your lovely comments on my Hazy Sunset photo. You really gave me some food for thought and all of your suggestions were actually great! I’m very thankful to have such amazing and caring followers on my blog! ♥ Hope you are all having a nice start in 2015! Cheers! 😀

With this photo we close the posts from Thessaloniki. Here we have another interesting meet of different styles of architecture, right in the heart of the city. Maybe the two lovebirds sitting at the bus stop had an interesting meeting as well 😛
Day 12 of the V-Light Art Sale and we have reached the amazing 57% 😯 I had a little break these last 3 days, relaxing at the sea (photos will be coming up next 😉 ) cause running an Indiegogo campaign requires more work than a full time job…There are still 20 days to go, it’s a lot of time but we cannot rest. I’m working on a new video and maybe i’ll also add a new perk…Any shares are always welcome and they do help the campaign to stay higher on the trending list.
